Courtroom Victory Criminal Defense Case (Shooting)

PMI is proud to announce a major courtroom victory achieved in partnership with Cooper & Fernandez Law, PLLC. Following the delivery of our investigative findings to the defense team, the State Attorney’s Office dropped the shooting-related charges, bringing this matter to a decisive close.

This case began with serious allegations tied to a shooting incident. From the outset, the prosecution’s narrative relied heavily on circumstantial assumptions and information attributed to a third party rather than clear, independent proof. Our role was to take a disciplined, evidence-first approach—reviewing records, assessing consistency, and identifying what the objective data actually showed.

A key turning point came from forensic firearm evidence. Our review highlighted that the physical ballistics indicators were not aligned with the prosecution’s theory. Instead, the available forensic linkage pointed away from the accused and supported a credible alternative explanation consistent with reasonable doubt.

In addition, we evaluated how location-related evidence was being interpreted. As is common in many criminal allegations, generalized location indicators can be presented as more precise than they truly are. Our work helped ensure that the evidence was weighed accurately, not overstated.

Outcome: The shooting allegations were fully dismissed by the State, reinforcing the principle that cases must be proven with reliable, corroborated evidence—not assumptions. PMI appreciates the professionalism and advocacy of Cooper & Fernandez Law, PLLC, and we’re honored our investigative reporting contributed to this result.
